About Me

Educational History:

I graduated high school from Sterling High School in Sterling, KS. I attended the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!) for two years, and then transferred to Sterling College to finish my last two years of college. A couple of years after graduating from Sterling, I started my Master’s program for School Counseling at Fort Hays State University.

Degrees and Certifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Management Leadership (SC)
  • Master of Science – School Counseling (FHSU)

Current Position:

This is my first year at Concordia. I am excited to get to know and work with the students at CJSHS! This year I am also a Kansas Counseling Assocation Board Member.

Previous Position:

Prior to working at Concordia, I have worked at Russell Middle and High School as the College and Career Coordinator, Valley Center Middle School as a School Counselor, and at Pretty Prairie K-12 School Counselor. Prior to working at a School Counselor, I worked at WSU Tech (then WATC) as an Adult Recruiter, and at Northwestern Mutual.

Family Information:

I have a boyfriend, who some know at school as Coach Echer. We have a dog Emmitt, he is almost 9 years old and is a super energetic Vizsla and lives up to the stereotype of being “velcro dogs.”

I in a sense grew up in the world of education as my mom is a 3rd grade teacher and is starting her 37th year. My dad works in agriculture as a Grain Manager, my younger brother works in the beef cattle industry, and my sister-in-law is a nurse.

Personal Information:

Loves: KU, Christmas, Diet Dr. Pepper, popcorn, cooking & baking, Greys Anatomy, Friends, self-care, and mexican food
Dislikes: Coconut, hieghts

Fun facts: Just got married here in April! I’ve been to France, I am mixed handed (not the same as ambidextrous), I can play the piano & trumpet, I was a Student Ambassador & gave walking tours at KU, I was a lifeguard for 8 years, I was a 12 year member of 4-H and showed pigs & cattle
