1st Grade MTSS
At the beginning of the year, ALL 1st grade students are given a DIBELS Benchmark Assessment for Nonsense Word Fluency (correct letter sounds and whole words) and Phoneme Segmentation Fluency. After the screener is administered, the data is analyzed and students are placed into tier groups that meet their individual needs. Some of the students also take the PAST (Phonological Awareness Skills Test), a diagnostic screener, which provides further data to meet the needs of our individual students.
