Amy Marcotte Nominated for Kansas Horizon Teaching Award
Amy Marcotte, a Kindergarten teacher at Concordia Elementary School, has been nominated for the Kansas Horizon Teaching Award by CES principal Chris Fall. The Horizon Award, which is sponsored by the Kansas State Department of Education, identifies and recognizes representatives of excellent teaching in the elementary and secondary classrooms of the state. Nominees for this award had to have completed their first year of teaching in Kansas before they can be nominated. Parents,colleagues, students, along with Amy and Chris Fall, submitted letters of support and essay questions for this award. Winners of this award will be selected in December or January by staff at the Kansas State Department of Education. "Amy is an educator we need in our profession. She has the drive, energy, and initiative necessary to be a successful elementary teacher," said Chris Fall, CES principal.
