USD 333 Staff Kicks-Off the 2011-12 School Year
All staff in USD 333 returned to work on August 17, 2011, by attending district-wide inservice training. The staff received updates on district changes in facilities, academic areas, and other budget related issues. Nurse Jayme Peterson updated teachers with the annual Bloodborne Pathogen training, with the assistance of special guest "Nurse Jayme." USD 333 and LCNCK employees Anita Breen and Lorri Meyer gave an informative presentation on Autism. Both ladies are members of the LCNCK Autism Intervention Team and have received many hours of specialized training. After lunch certified teachers attended two sessions presented by district staff. The student management software system, STI, has been replaced with Power School. Parents will receive more information about how to check grades online, at a later date. The teachers also learned about their new system for setting professional goals and monitoring professional development through a new system, PDP Toolbox. Teachers will attend building level inservice on August 18 and have a work day on August 19. All students return to the classrooms on August 22.
New teachers attended their first day of training on August 16. They spent time in their buildings and classrooms, and time at the district office for orientation. Each new teacher also met their mentor, who will help with the transition into a new school district. The new teachers and administrators also enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Brown Grand Theater, hosted by the Women's Division of the Chamber.
We are excited to start a new school year! Be sure to attend the parent orientation sessions; August 18th-CES at 6:00 pm, and CMS at 7:15 pm; and CJSHS on August 23 at 6:00pm.
