- Rachel's Challenge
Kevin Steinert, Denise Stover, Brenda Gilliland, Nathan Gieber, Dannae Gennette, Kaylee Mosher, Witney Sorell, Mallory Gilliland, Kody Halfhide, Shelby Barrett, and Rebecca Charbonneau reported on what CMS and CJHS/CHS students and faculty have been doing to incorporate Rachel's Challenge at grades 5-12.
- Board Self-Evaluation
The board reviewed their compiled self-evaluation document. At the April meeting, the results from the site councils, department/grade chairs and administration will be reviewed.
- CHS HVAC Electrical Project Bids/QZAB Update
Karl Stricker reviewed the progress of the CHS HVAC/electrical project. Latimer and Sommers have the project specs out and the bids will be opened on March 30, 2007. The board will accept/reject the bids at the April board meeting. The projected completion date is November 1, 2007. Supt. Mortimer reported that the district received notification from Citizens National Bank, Peoples Exchange Bank and United Bank & Trust that they will assist the district with the QZAB bonds. These three banks will contribute just over $1,000,000 in bonds and Tom McGuire with McLiney and Company is working with nationwide banks to secure the remaining bonds for the district. All banks within the district were given the opportunity to participate.
- 2007-08 Calendar
Some teachers have asked for further discussion on the 2007-08 calendar. The board will act on the calendar at the April meeting.
- CHS Curriculum Handbook Changes
The board approved the CHS curriculum handbook additions as presented for Science Investigations and Earth & Space Science.
- Accept Resignations
The board accepted the retirement of Judy Hill, CHS Social Science Teacher, and the resignation of Brenda Morgan, CHS Ag Education Teacher, at the completion of the 2006-07 school year.
- New Hires for 2007-08
The board approved the hire of Doug Elias as CHS Athletic Director/Assistant Principal for the 2007-08 school year.
