and John States expressed to the board their support for current
administrators.

Board of Education Recognition Month
January is Board of
Education recognition month. Be sure to thank the board members for
all their support.

CES Teacher Presentation
Mary Lisa Thoman's
students, Jennifer Boley, Braydon Stricker, Braden Johnson, Marissa
Morgan, and Janae Champlin demonstrated mathematical
non-linguistics cues on how to determine the mean, mode, and
median. Mary Lisa has been notified by Mailbox Magazine that these
will be published in their magazine.
Lisa Moore did a presentation on Text Talk which is used for vocabulary and comprehension in second grade. CES teachers would like to expand Text Talk to K-1.

Bus for Patron Use
The board discussed
adopting a policy for other requests to use the chartered bus.
Supt. Mortimer will obtain polices from other school districts as
well as check with EMC insurance about the insurance procedures for
outside groups using the bus.
- HVAC/Electrical Project
Asst. Supt. Stricker updated the board on the project. Hood’s
will be working in the evenings on the project. LSA will be
providing the district within the next few weeks an equipment list
for the next phase of the project.

Break ins
Wanda Backstrom
updated the board that District Attorney Rob Walsh had announced
that Andrew Nicholson has pleaded guilty to three counts of
theft-CMS, CES and Concordia Homestore. Nicholson’s hearing is set
for February 1st at 9:00 a.m.

Select Negotiations Team
Pat Murk and Jolene
Kindel were selected as the board's negotiations team.
- New Hire for 2006-07
The board approved the hire of Kay Thompson as a first grade
teacher to replace Jodi Walters.
